These territories were discovered by two former Wind Clan cats, Hawkfire and Eaglestorm. After being wrongly banished due to a misinterpreted message their leader received from Star Clan, they traveled all the way to the sun-drown place. There they learned from rogues and kittypets that the sun-drown place was called the ocean, and named the Clan they built after it. Hawkfire received her 9 lives from a place known as the Moon Cave, a crystal filled cave by the ocean to the north.
They slowly expanded their territory over time, stretching it across moorlands and forests to support their growing clan. After many seasons, Eaglestorm and Hawkstar passed, but left behind a strong legacy and a loyal Clan.
